Colour of Ink on Assignments

Good day Parents,

The students in 4G were given one blue pen and one green pen today. There was no need for any payment to be made. In addition, we mandated to 4G that all written work were to be done in blue ink and corrections in green ink from today onwards.

Two weeks had been given for the students to get hold of a blue pen and a green pen, but until last friday, teachers still receieved assignments done in pencil or corrections in blue ink despite many reminders.

We believe that the colour coded words would prove helpful for the students during revision time: black for questions, blue for students' written answers, green for corrections and red for teachers' marking. Thus, the students can spend less time mentally processing the presented information during revision.

Some parents may be concerned that writing in ink can result in many cancellations. A suggestion is for the students to do their homework on a A4 fullscape paper, check their work, make any changes accordingly, and finally rewriting the final answer onto the assignment itself. Although this may take more time but we are preparing your child to think through his/her answers before writing them instead of erasing them repeatedly. Eventually, the students would be more confident of their answers.

We are pleased to answer any further concerns if any.

Thank you and regards,
Mr Chan and Mr Lee.

Classroom Decoration on 7 Jan 2012

A BIG thank you to the parents, family and students of 4G who came and decorated the classroom this morning! It is the contribution of all who have made the classroom more beautiful. As time goes, there will be more articles and students' work displayed on the noticeboards. Let's check out the photos that were taken this morning. Have a great weekend and see all of you on Monday in a decorated classroom!

English and Maths

1) Please remember to bring Vocabulary Booklet 01 and Grammar Booklet 01 on 9 Jan (Monday).

2) There will be dictation on 9 Jan (Monday). Please go through "Prince Zak and the Wise Frog" line 12 to 19:

The prince reached deep into the hole, hoping there was nothing slimy or sharp-toothed down there. No good. He poked a spade down. Not long enough. Then he picked up a hose, wondering whether that might help. It did reach all the way down. But it was too soft and bendy to lift the ball. Prince Zak stared sadly at the hole.

3) For students who have not handed in the Maths Homework - Maths Workbook 4A Practice 1 (Pages 7 & 8), please submit them on 9 Jan (Monday).
